Meet Our Instructors

Hi, my name is Tina Cassady, and I’ve owned Fabdriving, and been helping people get their driving licence for almost 15 years now.

I started out with just the manual car but found many of my pupils would be better off doing automatic, so decided that it would be beneficial to have both. This allowed me to swap and change the car that the student is in, to suit them. However as time as gone on I am getting more drivers recommended to me who are nervous and would be better in an automatic, so I have recently gone to just auto.

This doesn’t mean that I can’t teach you in a manual if you have one. Once you have proven to me that you are safe on the road without the use of dual controls I would be happy to teach you in your own car.

In terms of my career, it was my husband who suggested I became a driving instructor. I used to go out driving with him and he would say I have an unusual way of explaining things so it made sense. I have done and passed a fleet training course but am no longer on the DVSA register as I decided that I wanted to focus on learners, rather than salesmen who just want to get the training done and get back to work. I have worked with the City of Nottingham Council delivering their Btec course to 6th form students and have recently done my NVQ level 2 in Understanding Autism, my son being recently diagnosed. I’m a regular volunteer driver (known as a ‘stig’) for Speed Of Sight Charity. We give driving experiences for blind and disabled in specially adapted cars, just like giving a driving lesson, but around a racetrack. I am also a member of several local instructors associations as well as being Charities Liaison Officer for a national instructors association (ADINJC).
